Once upon a time - OHbaby! Magazine, issue 46

This has got to be my favourite subject: the power of reading picture books to children and the incredible effects this simple, beautiful pastime has on our little ones’ developing brains.

In the Winter 2019 issue of OHbaby! Magazine, I talk about what is happening inside babies brains from birth and upwards while they're enjoying storytime, and why brain development is supported so powerfully through this activity. I also look at what the reader can do to enhance the efficacy of their reading and get the very most for their child with easy, age-specific ideas.

There’s even a section for ‘The best on the bookshelf’ where I suggest some must-reads and explain why I think they’re so brilliant.

Reading really is one of the greatest gifts we can give our children - just ask science! Getting the opportunity to share this article and information truly makes my heart smile.
